Cenomi Retail opens 14 new Subway branches

Fawaz Abdulaziz Alhokair Co. (Cenomi Retail) set a new world record by opening 14 new Subway branches across Saudi Arabia on the same day, according to a statement to Tadawul.

Cenomi Retail surpassed the previous record of 12 store launches in one day.

The new Subway outlets include eight traditional stores in high-traffic prime locations, as well as six non-traditional stores strategically placed in locations such as hospitals, banks, universities, and government institutions.

The total payback period for the 14 new stores is estimated at 2.7 years, significantly exceeding the industry benchmark, the statement added.

Cenomi Retail continues to focus on driving the growth of leading brands while meeting the rising demand for fresh and healthy food in the Kingdom.

In September, Cenomi Retail’s fully owned Subway stores—28 locations at the time—contributed 14.8% to the revenue of brands in the food and beverage segment.

By the end of 2024, the total number of Cenomi Retail-owned Subway stores in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is expected to rise to 57, boosting Subway's contribution to approximately 25% of the revenue from leading brands within the company’s food and beverage segment.
